911 European RS

Born out of one man’s desire to develop a 911 with a driving experience balanced between a GT3 RS 4.0 and the original 2.7RS, the 911 European RS has been developed by Thornley Kelham to synthesise some of the best driving experiences a 911 can offer. Building on everything Thornley Kelham has learned from 15 years of concours restoration work, combined with contemporary design and engineering methods developed during their ‘Outlaw’ builds, their aim is to deliver a car that drivers will want to drive. After all, what gives pleasure in a car? Thornley Kelham believes it is a shape, details, and finish that makes one turn and have another look, a perfect driving position, an engine symphony that one wants to hear again and again, performance that the spirited driver can explore, and a feeling that everything is – right.

Thornley Kelham’s base car is an early 70s 911, providing a lighter starting point. With a seam welded and stiffened chassis, reengineered 993 engine and transmission, fuel injection, ECU, and drive-by-wire throttle, adaptive damping, 997 GT3-derived suspension, a much wider track, uprated brakes, and redesigned interior, the 911 European RS is designed around the driver. Thornley Kelham is not chasing the lightest, or the fastest, but delivering an exhilarating all-rounder that is up there with the very best.
