They were instrumental in the development the of multiple recent Bugatti projects; BMW and Cadillac have called on Dallara for the design of their Le Mans cars. Many many more icons have been touched by Dallara’s expertise, but need to remain secret.
Giampaolo Dallara’s decades of success in motorsport instilled in him a relentless passion for innovation and performance. In 2017, he embarked on a bold new journey: the creation of a Dallara-branded road car. The result was the Dallara Stradale, a lightweight, high-performance vehicle that captures the essence of racing heritage while offering an exhilarating experience for road and track enthusiasts alike. The Stradale is a testament to Mr. Dallara’s vision, blending advanced engineering and timeless design into a car that embodies the thrill of driving.

Why James chose to add Dallara to the LaSource Collection
I was first introduced to Dallara by a friend with a T.50 on order. He raved about the Dallara and set up a meeting. For me, Dallara needed no introduction (having studied Automotive Engineering Dallara were one of the Gods of my youth). While touring their extraordinary facility – think the McLaren Technology Centre without the stunning Norman Foster design elements – I was taken aback by the number of iconic cars that Dallara have had an involvement with over the years – most of which are subject to commercial non disclosure agreements.
Dallara are a serious, yet unpretentious organisation. Annual revenues are in excess of €200mn across the family owned business, with the Stradale only contributing around 5% of annual earnings.
At the price point with a full carbon fibre monocoque and all the Dallara know-how, it is clear that the Stradale is not a purely commercial venture. It is a project of passion, a culmination of a lifetime at the pinnacle of the industry and moreover finally a car to bear the Dallara name.
The car is wonderful to drive, with plenty of torque, and a very compliant suspension. If you are looking for a car for an engaging, but comfortable run out to lunch – and perhaps a few track laps on the way home – this car is absolutely it.
Dallara’s commercial representation has focused on central Europe thus far, with around 300 cars delivered. With sales and service representation now established in the UK and USA, I feel now is the time to consider a Stradale, or the track only version – the EXP – to your stable.
