THE VANQUISH RETOLD: AN ICON UPDATED FOR TODAY’S GT DRIVER
LaSource is delighted to act as ambassador to CALLUM and R-Reforged, offering you the opportunity to specify and own one of just 25 models of the Aston Martin CALLUM Vanquish 25 by R-Reforged.
It is rare that a car designer gets the opportunity to improve upon one of their creations, let alone when that design is as iconic as the Aston Martin Vanquish. More than two decades after it was first penned, its revered designer Ian Callum CBE has retold the model for today’s GT driver, utilising the advances made in materials and technologies to create a contemporary edition, and arguably one of the most beautiful Aston Martins produced. The Aston Martin CALLUM Vanquish 25 by R-Reforged incorporates over 350 engineering, material and design changes that have been fully endorsed by Aston Martin Lagonda.
Though the iconic lines of the Vanquish remain, they have been refined to create a sharper and more purposeful look. Sitting 10mm lower and 50mm wider, a more muscular and purposeful stance is assured. A revised suspension setup includes bespoke anti-roll bars, tuned dampers and springs that have sharpened the ride without being too stiff for Grand Touring. New custom forged 20” wheels are shod with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres that deliver better steering accuracy, while 3D printed ducts feed cool air to the new carbon ceramic brake set up that brings stopping power right up to date.
In the beautifully detailed engine bay, the team has extracted more performance from the sonorous 5.9-litre V12 engine to deliver an extra 60bhp over the original, courtesy of a new carbon induction and custom free flowing exhaust system that also acts as a diffuser. Manual and fully automatic gearbox options are also available alongside the automated manual.
The result is a GT that blends sports car performance with usability – it can comfortably complete a thousand-mile journey across Europe, but equally offers a rewarding, responsive and supple experience in a 20-minute run.
The aesthetics have been finessed inside and out. Reprofiled front and rear carbon bumpers lift the visuals while new high-intensity LED head and taillights provide a purer light. There is plenty more carbon, including side-strakes, one-piece composite window surrounds that replace the clunkier multiple rubber mouldings of the original, and aluminium/carbon fuel filler that can be etched with your own detail.
Inside, R-Reforged and CALLUM have partnered with British watch manufacturer Bremont to create the brand’s first automotive instrument cluster that sits in the central console. Bremont has also produced a removable mechanical pocket watch that can be used in and outside the car. For those enjoying the true purpose of the Vanquish – a long journey – Mulberry has created bespoke luggage at its Somerset Artisan Studio. This perfectly complements the interior of the Vanquish 25, which features the CALLUM abstract tartan design. With revisions to the seats, it now has a lower, more sculpted and cossetted driving position, coupled with a finer steering wheel and more tactile gear shifters. A revised centre console with new infotainment further enhances the driving experience.
Customers will create their unique Vanquish specification together with Ian Callum and the CALLUM design team, and can watch their vehicle progress throughout the build process at R-Reforged’s facility in Warwick, UK. Customers can provide their own donor Vanquish S, or R-Reforged can assist in sourcing a donor model.

“The Vanquish was perfect for its time. But I knew it could be better. It’s wider, lower and looks more purposeful on the road. Alongside the aesthetic changes, the setup and driving feel have been transformed: it now feels composed, taut and sharp. You will want to drive for the sheer pleasure –this is the ultimate Vanquish.”
